For the first time, the annual hike was hosted by the White Mesa Ute Council who delighted approximately 75 people with a hearty breakfast of fodian tea, bacon, eggs, and Indian bread, freshly baked over hot coals. , The crowd, which included 34 jeep posse members from the Wasatch Front as well as other; visitors and local people, was then treated to the story of Posey and the last Indian war as told Mike who was inby volved in the skulrmish. The story was continued with more facts and other interesting information as the group hiked the trail over Comb Ridge. At the conclusion of the hike. Nations of the Four Corners Association presented aprogram representing the four major cultures of San Juan County and prepared a steak and dutch oven' potatoes dinner for . everyone. The large turnout andbeautiflil weather enhanced the historic occasion.
