The training workshop is designed to give leaders the skills necessary to handle people problems. Leadership training Persons working or serving in volunteer leadership positions are invited to attend a countywide leadership workshop being held Monday, May 3, in Blanding. Sessions begin in the morning for student leaders. Adults and students will meet at 12:30 p.m. at the Blanding North LDS Chapel for small group sessions. Afternoon sessions will begin at 12:30, 1:20, 2:00, 2:30 and 3:30. Those who cannot attend all afternoon are invited to attend the most convenient session. There is no charge. Trainers from the State Board of Education will conduct the sessions. Scout leaders, chamber of commerce presidents, service club officers and those in church positions will all benefit from the , workshop promises PTA state intern. Admission is free and everyone is cordially invited to attend. Food handlers classes The Southeast Utah District Health Department will be holding food handlers classes May 5 and 6. In Monticello the class will be held May 5 at 4 p.m. in the health office in the county courthouse. In White Mesa class will be held May 6 beginning at 9 a.m. in the senior citizens building. The Southeast Utah District Health Department Food Service Sanitation regulations require all food handlers, including owners or management persons, working in food service establishment to possess a valid food handlers issued by the health permit department. There is a $4 fee for the class and permit. The Blanding Republican Party will hold a mass meeting Monday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Social. Feature event will be a parade through the historic pioneer town foHowed by competitive singing and dancing between headstart students from throughout San Juan County. Hie event will conclude with various Headstart Centers providing traditional foods.
