A lovely missionary and farewell testimonial was held in 4th Ward Chapel Sunday morning for Mrs. Maggie Harvey, who will leave here July 5 for the LTM training center in Provo, prior to leaving for her mission in the West Virginia area. Prayer was by her daughter, Edith Young of Mack, Colorado. Clyde Harvey, her son, spoke, as did son Clark; daughter Judy Kiddle sang a solo, then Maggie spoke, followed by remarks by Bishop Pincock. Bruce Cornwell, a grandson, the closing prayer. A gave large crowd of relatives attended the meeting. The building was full of well wishers. All of Maggies children were in attendance. They are Clyde and Clark Harvey; Judy Kiddle and Edith Young. Many of her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren came for the occasion. On Saturday evening Maggie's children entertained for her going away at an open house at Blanding library, where many friends called to wish her a happy and successful mission. The next few days the youngsters of 4th Ward will be busy gathering sagebrush for the ward float which will be in the parade on July 4. The men and boys of the seven wards in Blanding began hauling the hay off the church farm Tuesday morning. It was a delightful affair. This 4th of July week promises to be one of the busiest weeks for everyone of the whole summer, including programs, reunions, picnics, family gatherings and dinners, etc. Everyone will be involved before the week is over.
