The Society also lends devices used in recovery of cancer patients. One in four persons will contact cancer in their lifetime, according to the American Cancer Society. However, two of six will be cured. Of the four who die, one could have been saved through early detection of cancer. In other words, one half of all cancer victims could and should be saved.
