Show o Entries sought for annual Pioneer Days July 22-2-3 Saturday, with Diane Jones as chairman. Area residents are being ur- ged to submit entries for the parade at Monticello s annual Pioneer Days celebration, which will be held this year on Friday and Saturday, July 22 and 23. Theme for the annual observance is two-da- y Best of the Southwest. Parade entries should be registered with either Pat Howell or Vic Shafer, of this years parade. Highlights of the Pioneer Days program on Friday, July 22, will include the annual rodeo, sponsored by the Monticello Jaycees, and a dance that night, starting at 9 p.m., also sponsored by the jaycees. The Sundusters will play for the dance. co-chair- The parade will be on Saturday, July 23, with prizes to be awarded in the following categories: most beautiful, most humorous, most appropriate to the theme, and most M0NTICELL0S LITTLE LEAGUE baseball teams are sporting new uniforms. Paul Barr, general chairman of the 1977 Pioneer Days, said this week that anyone wanting to have a booth at the carnival on Saturday, July 23, should contact Doug Boyle, chairman. Doug is also chairman of this years golf tournament. -- 23, will start with the Lions Club breakfast, with Lion President Wayne Rasmussen in charge. A tennis tournament is also planned, with Richard Hatch as chairman, although the time has not been set. rodThe eo will be held again Saturday afternoon, and there will be a fireworks display that night at dusk at the football field, sponsored by the city of Monticello and the Chamber of Commerce. The Jaycees will sponsor another dance on Saturday night.
