No more beautiful symbol of Easter could have been on display down Main Street on Sunday than our own stars and stripes waving proudly in the breeze. It makes one proud to be an American and Christian as well. Mr. and Mrs. Ashton Harris and son and daughter, Guy and Cal lie, had a very enjoyable experience during the spring vacation. They drove back to Ames, Iowa, to visit Norman and Diane Jones and their children. Diane is a daughter of the Harrises. Their trip was a surprise to the Jones family, which made their visit even more fun. While there they had the opportunity to tour the United States Dept, of Agriculture's National Animal Disease Laboratory. It is one of the worlds April most modern research facil- 15-2- 2 The Manager's Message: "Whos the Tapper? 3$l SOUTHEASTERN UTAH'S FRIENDLY SHOPPING CENTER ities for the study of infectious and noninfectious diseases of domestic animals. This laboratory employs close to 500 people, including approximately 125 research veteri- narians, microbiologists, biochemists, and other biological scientists. Norman is employed at the laboratory as a microbiologist. Besides the fun and interesting things they did with the Joneses, while in Ames, the Harrises really enjoyed the long drive to and from Iowa. The scenery was beautiful. They couldnt decide whether the mountains in Colorado or the lush farm land on the plains of Nebraska and Iowa made the most picturesque and beautiful scenery. |
