Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Galbraith, Sr. had a New Year's holiday "visit from the Jim Barnetts of Salt Lake. They enjoyed a special dinner on Sunday together. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Jones had a pleasant holiday visit with their sons, Glen and Ted of Salt Lake City. Ted's two teenage children also came down for a visit. Most of the college kids who spent the holidays here had to leave Sunday in order to be back in school Monday morning. The Austin Lyman family spent the holidays here with their parents, the Ray Lymans and the Ervin Guymons. They live in Salt Lake. Upon retirement as custodian GROCERIES 37 Saltine Crackers 16 oz. Clyde was raised here and his many friends will be happy to learn of his accomplishments. Frank Wright will act as custodian in his place until the Wrights' son, Be van, arrives in April to take over. We wish the Lance Phillips well in their future plans. And we wish Bevan and his family the best of luck and welcome them to Blanding. Bevan grew up here. Quite a few people from here went to the Roy Wood funeral at Monticello on Friday. We extend our sympathy to the family at this time. There seems to be quite a few cases of colds or flu here the past week. We don't know if Santa Claus brought the bug or not. We wish everyone far and wide the best New Year ever. The wind blew here so hard Sunday night we expected to find the roofs off the houses by morning. For the Best... Frank Redd has an- nounced the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Asenath, to Dennis Guymon of Blanding. The marriage is expected to take place the first of June. Asenath is a daughter of Mrs. Redd and the late B. Frank t ' ; .. Redd, and Dennis is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Guymon, all of Blanding. The young couple are both San Juan High graduates. Dennis has filled his allotted time with Uncle Sam, and Asenath is presently attending Weber College in Ogden.
