Invetational is one sppech and drama contest open to all high schools in the state. This is the second year students from STH will participate in this contest. First place trophies will be given to the winner in each category. This year students are entering the speech part of the contest as well as the dramatic section. Jini Lyman and Kay-leBlack will enter the oratory division, Layne Jones and Peggy Noonan are going extemporaneous speaking; Marta McDonald, Susan Shumway, Heather Hurst, and Becky Cochran will participate in legislative forum. In dramatic reading SJH will be represented by Becky Homedew and T oni Shumway and Nancy Homedew and Bruce Bayles will enter humorous reading. These students have been working hard and will do their best to bring honor to San JuaD High School. The experience they will gain will be a valuable assett to the students when it comes to the region 36-1- 6. 4-- 4-- 9-- 4-- ne meets. Good Luck students. We are behind you and hope you go all the way. A basketball game with Grand was played Friday, the 29th. Both teams did a good job and both played with full competative spirit. The San Juan Broncos did an excellent job with the score at half time 40-1- 4, the final score and 6. We're our of Broncos, awfully proud so keep up the good work. February 3rd we challenge Grand in wrestling. In previous years Grand has had a pretty good wrestling squad. We hope no matter how good they may be, that we can defeat them. We hope our boys will win the matches, but even if we lose, the boys will have that much more experience, and they will be really good in later years.
