Show tm Mrs. Viola Palmer Couple united in Sipe passes away Temple rites ! MHS students tops again Mrs. Viola Palmer Sipe, 67, Blanding, died March 21 at the San Juan Hospital as a result of a heart ailment. She was the wife of Charles Luther Sipe of Blanding. Mrs. Sipe was bom in Mexico July 21, 1902, the daughter of James Palmer and Myrtle Black Palmer. She married Mr. Sipe in Monticello June 6, 1927. She is also survived by brothers Kenneth Palmer of Blanding, and by 15 grandchildren. Funeral Services were held Tuesday , March 24 at the Blanding LDS Church. Burial was in the Blanding City Cemetary. Arrangements were made by San Juan Mortuary. 7 4 Math, students at Monticello High School took four of the top ten scores in Region Six of the Utah State High School Mathematics Contest held March 14 at Weber State College in Ogden. Randy Muhlestein, who placed first in Region Six, scored higher than any other student in Regions 5, 6, 7 and 8, which included all of the class B and most of the class A schools in the state. Fourth place was taken by Mark Adams, Paul Nielson placed eighth, and Stephen Redd took tenth. Joe Black from San Juan High School took 7th place. The remaining of the top ten places were taken by Uintah High School students. Eleven MHS Students participated in the contest which was sponsored by Weber College and The Utah Junior Academy of Arts, Science and Letters. She is the wife of the late Charlie Johnson and a member of the LDS Church. She was affectionately known in Blanding as Grandma Johnson. She is also survived by 33 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
