A ( - si J f r SCHOOL JEWS . 4$ Vr . v 'W; - S iju . r.- . . vr) The children of St. Christopher's Mission to the Navajo, Bluff, Utah, will leave this weekend for their now -- annual Choir Trip to Salt Lake City. The St. Christopher's Choir was organized during the Spring of 1964 when the young people were given the opportunity to bring Navajoland to the eastern coast and sang both at the New York World's Fair and the Episcopal Cathedral in Washington, D. C. On that trip they were hosted at the Capital by Rep. Laurence J. Burton On their return to Bluff the Choir did not disband but continued their work and adopted traditional Navajo clothing of red velveteen blouses and shirts with white satin skirts for the girls and white slacks for the boys. (R-Uta- h). MOBILE HOMES r.r - 1- a The 32 member Choir and their leaders will leave for Salt Lake City on Friday morning (April 3). The Choir includes members not only from the Bluff community but also represents children from the Blanding, Hatch, McCracken Mesa, Montezuma Creek, Aneth, Red Mesa, and Ship rock communities. The children were chosen from schools at Aneth, Montezuma Creek, and Teec Nos Pos where weekly religious instruction and services are held. While in Salt Lake City the Choir will'1 be hosted by the Reverend Wesley Frensdorff, Dean of St. Mark's Cathedral, and families of the Cathedral parish. On Saturday afternoon they will be guests of the Salt Lake Tribune-a- t Lagoon Amusement Park. The young people will return to their homes in southeastern Utah on Monday afternoon. The Mission Calendar For The Week includes several changes because of the Salt Lake City Choir Trip. On Sunday April 5, Mass will not be celebrated at any place however Evening prayer will be held at Bluff at 5:00 p. m. On Saturday and Monday, April 4 and 6, Food Stamps will be sold at the Mission. Religious education classes will continue as usual at Aneth, Montezuma Creek, and Teec Nos Pos. New Clinic hours as announced recently are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Satur- day between 9 a. m. -- 12:30 p. m. and 2 p. m. -- 4:30 p.m. The Clinic will be closed on Thursday and Sunday.
