Show Mr. and Mrs. Keith Guymon welcomed a baby daughter at fog the Monticello hospital early ner and participated in the quilting and the hand work. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Hurst accompanied Clarence Rogers to Ogden and Sunset for a visit with their children this past week. In Provo they were joined by Mrs. Rogers who has spent the past two weeks in California. The trip to Ogden Sunday morning. She weighed 8 lbs. and brought joy to the homes of her grandparents, the Dave Guymons and the Bart Lymans. She has a brother and sister. The Blanding Second Ward Relief Society had an outstanding Thanksgiving dinner as their work meeting Mon- day afternoon. They decided instead of a Christmas party this year they would have a party for Thanksgiving. Phil Action roasted a 20 lb. turkey and demonstrated the serving of it. Other items were hot rolls, dressing, cranberry relish, stuffed celery, cherry cream square salad and individual pumpkin pies. He and his family will go to Mesa for the winter soon. Mrs. Hazel Lyman returned from Salt Lake where she spent a week caring for her small granddaughter while Mrs. Linda Bohn took her son, Bart, for tests at the Children's Hospital. Mrs. Bohn lives in Wyoming. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Lyman left Thursday for California to move their daughter, Libby, and husband, Gorden Louden-bac- k, to Salt Lake City where Mr. Loudenback will attend the University. Mr. Taylor has been a radar operator at the Missile Base, One day last week the family was honored at a farewell dinner at the Methodist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Grant L. Baylas accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Stevens to St. George Friday where the Stevenses stopped to visit the Ronnie Guymon family. The Baylesei continued to Washington for a short stay with Mr. and Mrs. Finley Bayles and four daughters. On the way home they detoured the six miles to visit Lee's Ferry. It was a beautiful sight with tamarack trees a brilliant yellow all along the river. Mrs. Lawrence Wright honored her 13th year old grandson, Bruce Redd, at a Sunday dinner at her home. Others there were his parents, Mr. anc and Mrs. Lyman Redd and his brothers and sisters and grandparents, the J. Wiley Redds. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Blick-ensta- ff and Mrs. Irene Redd enjoyed a short excursion to the Manti Temple the first of the week. Mrs. Redd served on a mission to the Temple and it was always a thrill to go back. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Redd have gone to Salt Lake City this week for medical appointments. Mrs. Ruth Shumway Robinson visited last week from her home in Nampa, CaL She stayed at the home of her brother, Seth Shumway, and saw brothers Harris, Lee and Glen. Guests of Mrs. Grace Shumway last weekend were her granddaughter, Ronda Hammond, of Peoche, Nev. , whe attends USU, her grandsons, Joe and Casey Shumway, of Grand Junction, who attend BYU and Miss Barbara Carey. They were on their way to Grand Junction to attend a family reunion of the DeVar Shumway family before Casey leaves for a mission. Living at the Shumway Apartments are two lady missionaries from Arizona. Mr. and Mrs. I. M, Sadler have moved back here after an absence of several years and are living at the Shumway Apartments. They have a daughter, Myreta, who attends SJHS. Spf James Nicholas Shaw came back to Blanding last week to present a diamond ring to Miss Anna Jones. He is making the Army his career and has completed nine years in the service. He is from Savannah, Ga. The young couple plan to be married in March when he returns to Blanding with the Missile Group from Fort Sill.
