Show Yule holds parties Primary The group was entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Baddy Richens with Christmas songs and Mr. Richens gave a comical rendition of Poncho Claus. Christmas poems were recited by Edna Toponce and Mernice Odette recited the story "The Small One. " Those responsible for the party were Mrs. Ernest Sond- M. C. During the past week Primary organizations from each Ward held their Christmas parties for members and their spouses. The Second Ward, under the direction of the Presidency, held an old Fashioned Christmas, including a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Mrs. Maxine Lyman was the eregger, food chairman; Mrs. Memice Odette, decorations chairman and Mrs. Dave Fullmer, entertainment chair- man. The First Ward enjoy c . a ham dinner prepared by Mrs. Erline Frost and committee. Mrs. Ty Lewis arranged for the program with Fletcher Bronson singing, Kaylene mt tte bM and Bryant Brady gave 'The Ragged Cloak. Doris Pehrson led the group in games. General chairman was Mrs. Frost with Marceline Maughan and Ruth Smith in charge of the Burtenshaw playing a medley of Christmas carols, the Bailey children singing selections and Linda Lewis and Pain Smith joining in with "There's No Time a. ike The San Juan Record Christmas. Utah Copper Division employees will enter the new year mining five times more material to obtain one ton of copper than they did 40 years ago. that time, it was necessary to mine 120 tons of rock to get one ton of copper. In 1969, the ratio will be nearly 600 tons to one. Forty years ago, that 600 to one ratio would have shut down the property despite the fact there was nearly 20 pounds of copper in every ton of ore. Today, there is only 14 pounds per ton. Twenty years ago, when the ratio was 260 to one and the copper content was steadily dropping management knew that vast changes had to be made if operations were to continue. The problem of handling more material, more efficiently and at less cost has been solved for the time being, but the challenge for doing so in the future At always will exist.
