Show Conservation Committee County deer meets hunt successful sented in a conservation education seminar held in Price last spring and to discuss objectives, opportunities, and possible courses of action for Conservation Education in the San Juan County Schools. Following the presentation of arious subjects by the individuals all participated in an open discussion on ways of implementing the Conservation Education Program. Mr. Keown agreed to explore the possibility of organizing a Committee representing the teachers of San Juan School District. A meeting of the San Juan County Conservation Education Advisory Committee was held on Oct. 28 in the Monticello Library. The Committee has organized to serve in an advisory capacity to the teachers of the School District in conducting Conservation Education programs. Membership is composed of representation from various government agencies as follows: Blaine Jones, USU Extension Agent, Chairman; Wayne B. Erickson, Bureau of Land Management, Roy Vemer, U. S. Forest Service; Bryant Brady, vice-chairm- an; Soil Conservation Service; Herbert Gercke, National Park Service and Larry Farnsworth, Fish and Game. Representing the San Juan School Board was Dr. Kenneth B. Maughan and Mrs. Reta Bartell, with Dale Maughan and LaVar Abrams of Monticello Elementary School, Dr. Karl Brooks and Duane Keown of MHS and Charles Parkinson and Bill Taylor of the NPS from Moab. The purpose of the meeting was to review materials pre- - What's your choice? Chocolate? Strawberry? Vanilla? Parfait? "Make Mine Happy". Its the Stake Parent and Youth Night on Nov. 20 at the Monticello High School Auditorium. There will be two performances to be held, one at 7:00 p. m. and the other at 8:30 p. m. According to Conservation Officer Cecil Jones there was a 70 success among the hungers this year and of the number of kills 70 of them were bucks. Mr. Jones stated that there were hunters in more the county this year compared to last and that they enjoyed better success than the home residents.
