Show Named Royal Navy In Canyonlands?? 1 to 5, Canyon-lanwill be visited by a five man team from H. M.S. From May ds Glamorgan, a Royal Navy destroyer. The Glamorgan and a sister ship are calling at several U. S. ports en route to the Far East. The Glamorgan will send an officer and five enlisted men across country in a Landrover from Washington, D.C. to San Francisco. They will take 24 days to complete this thlp, visiting and camping in National and State Parks along the way. The Team, led by Lt. Cdr. Len H. Saunders, plans to enter some of its members in the Duke of Edinburgh's award program. This program is sponsored by Prince Phillip for unusual, adventurous, and physically beneficial use of time in sport. When asked by the Royal Navy to recommend an area which would provide a real challange to the team, the National Park Service had no hesitation in naming Canyonlands. The group will arrive on May 1, spend three days in the Park, and depart on May 5. Their travels in the Park will probably be mostly on foot, packing their gear and camplocaing in tions. The Park staff has worked out several alternate routes, each of them guaranteed to present a challenge to any group. Fletcher has been named graduation speaker at Utah Technical College at Salt Lake excercises, it was announced recently. Graduation exercises for the Salt Lake College are set for May 2S, 7:30 p. m. in the Keams High School Auditor- ium. More than 400 high school students will exhibit their science projects at the 1968 fair. Winners of fairs held in several other countries will also compete at Detroit. The AFC winners and alter nates will be selected on the basis of scientific excellency of their projects, educational' value of their exhibits, and satisfactory knowledge of nuclear science displayed during interviews with the AFC's judges. At Argonne the winners will study the Laboratory's outstanding facilities and research programs, try their ,hand at some basic nuclear experiments, and discuss their scientific interests with Argonne scientists working in the same field. The 42S entries at Detroit represent the best exhibits entered by approximately 1,200,000 students in local science fairs in 47 states, plus winners of regional and national science fairs held by 10 other nations. Canada and Puerto Rico will each send six exhibitors; Germany, five; Switzerland and Japan, two each; and the Phillipines, Sweden, Ecuador, Venezuela, and El Salvador, one each. The International Science Fair is administered by Science Service, a nonprofit organization for the popularization of science throughout the United States.
