Show News from JV By Donna Brown Quite a few people from camp enjoyed the ball game in Kayenta Monday night. Even if our team did lose, they put up a good fight. Jan Kahler and girls left Friday afternoon for Delta, Colo, where they will spend a week with her folks before moving to Elko, Nev. Grandma and Jack Pehrson spent Friday in Blanding. The Cub Scout Den No. 2 had a farewell party Thursday for Donald Brown who is leaving Sunday. Bobs Cafe opened Wednesday for business, after being closed for a couple weeks remodeling. Dusty Rhodes came In Thursday after being in California looking for work. He is on his way home to Denver. Lillian Nieves, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Nieves, opened for business Friday in the Empress Beauty Salon in Monticello. Lillian plans to spend one day a week here in Mexican Hat. Joan and Joan Staveley were hostesses for a farewell party given Thursday for Donna Brown, who is leaving Sunday for Carlin, Nev. Mr. Hansen began having trouble with his legs on the journey home and is now undergoing treatment here in the local hospital. Mr.' and Mrs. uerry Norton and little daughter, Amelie, of Salt Lake City visited here this weekend with his grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Barton, and other relatives. Ronald Smith and his friend, Miss Grace Banks, were weekend visitors at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Smith. Ronald lives in Salt Lake City, and Miss Banks, a BYU student, is a Mapleton resident. Mr. left Wednesday morning for a 10 day fishing trip to Old Mexico. Floyd and Fern Newport are working at the clothing store while the Ferrees are gone. Dave and Joan Staveley went to Hite Saturday to at- tend a business meeting. They stayed all night there, bringing Don Staveley back with them, then Don went home to Grand Junction Monday. Bill James left Thursday for Cortez to visit his folks. Bob Wells was in camp Fri- day. This is my final column, so since I didnt get to see everyone before I left, I want to say thank you to all the wonderful people at the Hat that helped me so much when I needed help moving.
