Hosts were Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Corbin, parents of the bride, the former Miss Dianne Corbin. Parents of Mr. Nielson are Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Nielson. Henry C. Watkins Funeral servBLANDING ices were held on Wednesday, April 21 for Henry C. Watkins, 80, of Mesa, Ariz., who passed away on April 18 at his home. Mr. Watkins was a long time resident of Blanding. He married Caroline Rogers on Sept. 13, 1905. The couple lived in Blanding until 1939. They were the parents of 11 children, three of whom preceded them in death. Mrs. Watkins died in 1957. Mr. Watkins later married Helen Hamm of Mesa. He is survived by his widow Miss Denney receives honor Shlrlene Denney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Penney, Blanding, has been honored for typing and shorthand competency at a special awards assembly at Stevens Henager College, Salt Lake City. The announcement was made this week by J. M. Stevens, president of the Salt Lake City college of Stevens Henager. Students achieving outstanding performance in a particuar subject are presented with a special awards certificate in recognition of ' their achievements. Miss Denney is currently enrolled in an advanced secretarial course at Stevens Henager. She is a graduate of San Juan High school. H Concert will feature Beers family 00 attend Senior Sock Hop MONTEZUMA' CREEK The Senior Sock Hop was a huge success with 100 guests there to share the fun. The El Paso recreation hall was decorated with blue and gold streamers and Japanese lanterns. The decorated socks were in abundance and after the judging, the following prizes were awarded: best couples, Elaine Guymon and Clifford Mikesell; most unusual, Berdene Brown; most comical, Don Clugston; most original, Carolyn Guymon; weirdest, Jackie Pierce; wildest, Marlene Laws; the booby prize went to Bryce Redd, who forgot to decorate his socks, and wore empty hot dog bun bags left over from the wiener roast. By Grace Cleary The main item on the program at the regular monthly meeting, of the Rebus Rota club Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Reid Davis, was a film on cancer in women. Mrs. Edway Redd introduced the film and following its showing gave out leaflets on cancer. Interesting talks were given by three of the Monticello High school delegates to the model UN which was held in Salt Lake City recently. Paul Redd, David Rolfson and Gerald Hyde told of their trip and what happened at the model UN meetings.
