TAKEN BY DEATH Walter Stevens, in his latter seventies, died May 31 at the home of his sister Mrs. Abby Kenzuler in Cortez. Death resulted from an ailment with which he had been suffering for years. Another sister, Mrs. Elmira Lamb of California had been helping to care for him, and other members of the family had visited him often. He was a son of Joshua Stevens and Elizabeth Kinney, and came to Blanding with the early refugees from Mexico. He was not married, and had made his home with his mother until the time of her deatO several years ago. The funeral was held Wednesday.
