"Pinafore, one of the most popuar of the Gilbert com la and Sullivan operas, has be,en selected as the community opera for Cedar City. It will be .produced some time during the latter part of March. William H. Manning, head of the de partment of music atjhe B. A. C, la directing the opera and has partially selected his cast. The candidates chosen so far Include Mrs. Arthur Bsrtholomew, who will sing the role of Josephine, and Mies Margaret Williams, supervisor for Cedar City, public schools, who sing Buttercup. Mrs. Wavle Hinckley will appear as Hebe, a role that she has sung once before; Heed Jones will play the role of Captain Corcoran; Otto Kle as Sir JoaepH Porter; I land Perry as Ralph Rockton; Will aa Dick Macfarlann Deadeye, and Ray Cosslet as the Boatswain. Mrs. Oustavus Larsen will be the accom panist. The chorus is being selected from townspeople and will begin prac ttclng In the near future.
