Emery defeated 1 Tooele and Snow Canyon before losing to Pine View 8-- 77-4- 55-4- 4 63-4- 3, Against the Buffaloes, Emery simply manhandled their opponent all game long, as they were too much, too fast and too good with great defense on this day. They seemed to be able to steal the ball at will, especially in the first half of the ballgame. Emery outscored Tooele 0 in the opening quarter as six different Spartans scored paced by Natalee Hansons 6 points. in Emery outscored Tooele 2 the second quarter to take a 9 half time lead as Alexis Swaseys 9 pomts paced Emery Emery dominated the third quarter 21-- 4 before dosing the game out with a 36- - point victory. Four Spartans finished in double figures led by Swasey with 19, Camille Fehlbergwith 13, Hanson with 12 and Callie Seeley with 10 points. Also scoring for the Spartans were Shayla Pitchforth with 7, Meagan Pearson with 6, Jodie Lundell with 3, Tahna Merrill, Rachel Rasmussen and Tracy Norton with 2 each and Shalae Cox with 1 point Emery then traveled to St George to play Snow Canyon at Dixie State College. Emery outscored Snow Cam on in every quarter to come home with an victory Natalee led the balanced scoring from the Spartans with 14 points followed by Shayla and Camille with 12 points each and Alexis with 11. Ashley Hansen had 6 points in the contest. Emery Shotdown by Dixie By GARY ARRINGTON Sports Writer The Emery Spartans went to the Christmas break hosting the Dixie Flyers and on this day, Dixie was simply too much Dixie overwhelmed the Spartans with a win at 27-poi- nt 56-2- 9. In the first quarter neither team took advantage of their opponents lack of scoring as Dixie led 7 after the period. Emery played hard but there were no results in the scorebook, as both teams seemed to be feeling out their opponent. Daniel Espino and Davey Jushad a tice had a basket and two free throw's for the Emery scoring Dixie took it to Emery in the second quarter, as the Emery offense did not produce any results. Emery lost the quarter 16-Emery was outscored in the as they never second half 3 were able to mount a challenge in this game. Justice led the Spartans with 8 points, Espino had 5 points along with Darrin Winn, Joey Bernard had 4 points and Mike Blomquist had 2 points Emery makes a road trip north to Ben Lomond and Morgan after the break and then hosts Springville on Jan. 7, 9-- 4. 2005.
