The real question should be: is it worth it not to hire a professional? Another way to look at wedding photography and money, is to compare it to food-y- ou get what youre willing to pay for. Do you want fast food, or do you want to pay more for a really good meal? Generally, good food isnt cheap, and cheap food isnt good. The same can be said of photography services. Weddings are unique. They cannot be recreated. Emotions run high. Relatives gather for only a fleeting time. The cake will be eaten, the flowers fade away. Without quality pho- tos that truly capture the moments and the feelings, memories can be lost forever. And when you consider (or hope) that a marriage will last 40 years or more, divide the price of the package by 40 years...thats not much per year, for some pretty precious memories.
