Show Emery County Progress Castle Dale, Utah Tuesday February 17,2004 9A Students of the Week Green River High School Joshua Dunham Kira Humphrey Joshua Dunham, the 15 year old son of Paula and Kirk Dunham, is a good student who Kira is the 18 year old daughter of Mike and Vicki Tara Zserai Tara Zserai is the 14 year old daughter of Mitzi Zserai of Elmo. She participates in FCCLA and basketball and her academic interests are FACS, Humphrey of Orangeville. She maintains a 4.0 grade point average. She is a cheerleader, a member of Peer Helpers and works hard in his academics. He is also active in extra curriculars with basketball, drama, and cross country. He is also a Justice in student coun- seminary and science. Tara likes to hang out with friends, go tubing, bowling, playing softball and ride her After graduation from high school, she plans to go to college and get a good job to earn lots of money. Lyndi Jensen is the daughter Jed and Theresa Jensen of 15 years old in and participates cheerleading, student council, peer helpers, FCCLA and yearbook. She is Whitney is the 18 year old daughter of Jim and Jennifer Angela Larsen Angela Larsen is the 14 year old daugther of Kent and Laurie Larsen of Ferron. She participates in honor society, FCCLA, cheerleader, UMEA and honor choir. She is president of the FCCLA. Her academic interests are seminary and chorus. Angelas hobbies are having parties with friends and church activities. She plans to go to college, and get married to a handsome returned missionary in the temple. d Tawn Jewkes Tawn Jewkes is the 14 year old daughter of Derri and Stacey Jewkes of Ferron. She participates in volleyball, basketball, chorus, band, track and honor society. She is the ninth grade secretary. Her academic Interests are English, seminary, chorus, science and geometry. Tawn plans to go to BYU and get a masters degree in interior design, then get married to a returned missionary and have a few kids. Whitney attended Girls State in 2003, has received her Young Womanhood Medallion, was nominated for a National English Merit Award, received Presidential Service Award and high merit in young poets contest and is a certified nurse as dent and peer helpers president. Her academic interests are geometry and geography. Lyndis hobbies include gymnastics, piano, snowboarding and hanging out with friends. She plans to get married in the temple and get a college sistant. She plans on going to nursing school and become a registered nurse. Ferron Elementary Natalie Baantjer Natalie Baantjer is the daughter of Hans and Tineke Huntington Elementary Baantjer. Her goal is to become a veterinarian and at school, she likes reading and PE. Her hobby is ice fishing. She is in the sixth grade and likes pizza and ice cream. Blue and purple are her favorite colors and Papa Married a Mormon is her favorite book. She loves her family and her pets. Barbie wants to be a mother when she grows up. Dancing, reading, math and her friends Camren Bell Camren Bell is the son of Deedee and Robert Bell. He loves his family, friends and his pets. He wants to be an engineer when he grows up. At school, he likes recess and PE. His hobbies include biking, sports, building things and playing with his friends. She likes spaghetti and the colors, green, red, blue, purple and orange. Midnight Magic is her favorite book and Selena is her favorite movie. Jennifer loves her family and friends and she wants to be an astronomer when she grows up. Science, recess, lunch and art are the things she likes best at school. River High E V ENTS By Samantha Arnold In the months September through December, three high school seniors, Rachel Dunham, Rebekah Thornton, and Dawna Maldonado took the opportunity to take the local EMT classes that were being taught by EMT Diane Chandler. The classes were two days a week on Thursday and Saturday. The course offered the girls six college credits. All of the girls passed their practical exams and will be taking their written exams this week. After becoming certified, they all plan on going on runs with the ambulance. Maldonado is interested in becoming an EMT Dunham because she plans to major in also wants to go into medicine, and thought that this experience would be an interesting way to help the community. pre-me- d. CVJH NEWS BY JACIE FASSELIN Last Thursday, Fteb. 5, the Cougars played San Rafael. The boys teams both lost along with the JV girls. Girls varsity, however, remains undefeated. Academic achievers were rewarded with a Top Cat party on Friday. Entertainment was by musician Lynn Roberts. Tuesday, boys basketball played at North Sanpete. Wednesday the Cougars hosted the Helper Rams. They played at 1:30 p.m., startingwith boys varsity. The junior varsity girls also played a basketball game with Moab.
