Show Emery County Progress Castle Dale Utah Tuesday August 26 2003 IB ilif: Emery County Green River residents are treated to an annual dinner. The Hawaiian Wedding Dance was performed to the apparent delight of the crowd The City of Green River hosted its annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on the afternoon of Nov 29 The event was held in the LDS Church, followed by the lighting ceremony in the city park to kick off the Christmas season Rep Brad King was on hand to honor the volunteers King noted that in a town the size of Green River, the number of volunteers being honored at the celebration was extraordinary Approximately one quarter of the towns residents were being recognized at the dinner A troupe from the West Valley City Cultural Center, named Pacific Pearl, provided food and entertaiment from the Islands Dinner consisted of Hawaiian Chicken, Kahlua Pork, rice, salad, pineapple, rolls and chocolate cake Islands represented were Hawaii, Figi, Samoa, Tonga, Tahiti, the Marquesians and New Zealand A complete list of the volunteers will be published in an upcoming issue of the Emery County Progress traditional Figi Island dance is performed as the grand finale for the evenings entertainment.
