EHS drama to present a Halloween comedy Emery High drama will be presenting the romantic Halloween play Get Witch Quick on Oct. 28, 29 & 30, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. This play w ill feature 19 students from the advanced drama class. It is the story of a watch college in Salem, Mass., that has to hire a normal male teacher. The teachers and students have to resort to all their best tricks to try to keep him from discovering what their school is really all about, but worse than any discovery he might make is the problem of one of the teachers assistants falling love with the new teacher. This leads to a lot of hilarious situations and some confusion for the witches. But it all works out in the end. The play was written by David Rogers and is a nonmusical production. It is directed Neal Peacock and stars Laura Blackwell, Amanda Harrison, Amanda Daley, Monica by Jensen, Jill Yost, Jana Jeffs, Aubry Larson, Lori Clarke, Berni Davis, Leslie Larsen, Derek Judi, Julie Malone, Andrea Thomas, Julie Christiansen, Allen Baird, Zach Swasey, Jacob Bulkley, Jaley Hinkins, Jessica Petersen, Ashley Brown and Tasha White. Krystal Huffaker will be helping with lights and sound. d romantic Halloween comedy that is fit for all members of the This play is a family. It is certainly not too scary for the kids, said Mr. Peacock In fact, everyone will have a good laugh or two. The play starts at 7 p.m. and is in the large auditorium. Cost is $3 for adults, $2 for students and kids, and $14 for a family ticket. Tickets are available from drama students or may be purchased the night of each performance. Get Witch Quick will be the first play of the season but certainly not the last. Along with the chorus, jazz band and drill team, the drama department will present The Wiz in November and The Foreigner in January. Emery High School Students of the Week rels. Maybe some criticism is deserved, but, when people don't have all of the facts, it is quite wrong to criticize. For example, one person recently complained that the golf team was not keeping enough young golfers on the team. I checked with the golf coach and discovered that there are 26 golfers on the team, and 3 of them are sophomores or freshmen. I ako discovered that the coach did NOT cut one single sophomore or freshman from the team. And these underclassmen had the same opportunity to qualify for the tournaments as the older golfers, and they qualified for tournaments on the same basis as the older golfers. Getting the facts straight before criticizing could have saved some hurt feelings. There was also some criticism that the members of the golf team were cheating on their scores and that adults should monitor each foursome as they tried out. There was no proof given of this, and so we essentially had someone calling our golfers a bunch of cheaters without any evidence. That was ako hurtful. In fact, in a recent tournament, two of our golfers accidentally played off the wrong ball. Upon discovering this, they turned themselves in to the officials and disqualified themselves. They could have gotten away with this, and no one would have known. We didnt get to hear about that from our critics. The football team was ako criticized unfairly. Please understand that these professional" critics are judging very harshly our amateur athletes.
