NOTICE TO CREDITORS Probate No. 2123 PUBLIC NOTICE This Ferron Elementary student enjoys her reading time at the school. Reading skills improve The old addege that practice makes perfect fits the daily situation in Mr. Days classroom. Everyday at 12:15 students in this fourth grade class sit down with an adult to read. All students within a reading group are reading the same novel. Students and adults take turns reading aloud while everyone else follows along in their copy of the text. The adult monitor can help with difficult passages and also stop to check for comprehension between readers. This small-grou- p program is only possible with the efforts of volunteers from the commu nity. These parent volunteers rotate, with each of them coming to school a couple times a week. The volunteers make each child feel valuable and successful with the individual attention each one receives. Parent volunteers include Donna Sorensen, Terry Seely, Teresa Behunin and Darshan Bennett. Reading progress over the last term has surprised parents and teachers, as well as the children themselves. With the support of parents and hard work from the students, this progress is expected to continue throughout the school year. School hosts math event Families from Castle Dale Elementary spent the evening of Monday, Nov. 8, together at school doing math. Several Castle Dale Elementary teachers who attended the State Department of Educations Math Workshop last summer proposed the concept, and plans were made. The objective of the evening was to reinforce the fact that math can open doors to the future, math is for everyone and math can be fun. The night began with a short introduction and explanation fo Castle Dales Might Math program by Principal Hunting-ton- . Mighty Math is a schoolwide process of encouraging and motivating students to reach fluency with basic math facts. After the general meeting, parents and students chose three half-hou-r workshops to attend together. Workshop options such as tangrams, get smart games, pentominoes, attribute blocks, cooperative story problems, estimation, geoboards, unifix cubes, and problem solving with pattern blocks were available. The workshops introduced parents to the types of fun math activities they can participate in with their children of all ages. Order forms were available for parents to order the games and manipulatives if they desired. At the conclusion of the evening, many parents who were initially at bit nervous contemplating a night of math were asking when the school was going to have another math night and bemoaning the fact that they didnt have time to get to all the workshops. The fatuity and staff were pleased with the number of participants and the fact that participants left wanting more. Its sure to come. HERETOFORE: QUANTITY: 38.99 cfs.
