Show Tuesday, April 27, 1993 7 A Emery County Progress Track team takes first Swap meet held May 7 Fire The Cleveland-Elm- o is sponsoring its Department The Emery High boys track team took first place at a preregion meet held at Emery last week. All of the Region 7 teams third annual swap meet at the Cleveland Town Park on Friday, May 7, and Saturday, May 8, from 9 a.m. until dark. People from throughout the area are urged to clean up their yards and homes and bring any unwanted items to participated. Emery finished with 169 points to take first while Uintah was second with 97, Carbon third with 88.5, Wasatch fourth with 81.5, Union fifth with 49, and Lehi took sixth with 41 points. Following are the results for the swap meet. Businesses that would like to participate are welcome. Those who are thinking about having then-owyard sale can let CEFD do the work for them. The department will accept donations, consignments, or owners can sell their own items. Food and drinks will be for sale. There also will be a drawing for a 30.06 rifle and many other prizes donated by local businesses. Lady Spartans add two to win column The Lady Spartans won two softball exciting, hard-fouggames in region play last week to remain in the hunt for first place in the conference. Emery defeated Wasatch in Heber City on Tuesday, and then defeated Uintah at home on Thursday, 16-1Emery now has a 1 mark and a share offirst place. Griffin, Jessica Oveson, Krissy Childs, Jamie Jeffs and Kay each had two hits in the game. Griffin pitched Emery to the two wins in the games last week.
