The Utah long-tim- e representative said he is proud of his record in the House, but he said that since the redistricting of the state, now is the time for a Republican to be elected to the Senate from southeastern Utah. He said he is the right candidate to win that seat and with a strong grassroots effort, he can win. Following Mr. Adams, several candidates for national positions spoke. Mr. McClenahan has always enjoyed studying about rocks and land forma- tions. He projected beautiful slide pictures oh a screen from a collection of rocks that he has made. By viewing the slides, students could see how certain kinds of minerals that exist in many rocks will glow ' in the dark when a fluorescent light is shone on them. The students were astounded by the bright and beautiful colors that appeared. It was interesting to see how such beautiful colors could come from such rock plain, ordinary-lookin- g samples. They learned about other different types of rocks and were shown examples that exist in our area. They were able to handle them and ask questions. This activity was a culmination of a unit on rocks and minerals that Mrs. Killpacks class has been working on for the past few weeks. genuine Republican with courage. Such policy, he said, has created a obituaries national crisis. This year is a battle for the future of America, he said, adding that Democrats are out of touch with the average American and that voters need to get mad to get changes.
