DAVIS Staff writer In Seventh Judicial Circut Court in Emery County ThurTerry sday, Sept. 1, Lee Valdez, Price, was fined $50 for lewdness, urinating in a area. The picnic public defendant also received five days in the Emery County Detention Center which will be suspended when the fine is paid. The defendant has 30 days in which to do so. Robert James Emerson, 72, Cleveland, was to be arraigned on charges of aggravated assualt, a third degree felony. The defendant was present without counsel. Judge A. John Ruggeri gave him until Sept. 8 to hire an attorney and the case was continued. Bail was posted and the defendant released on his own recognizance. Robert E. Shumway, 36, Huntington, was to be arraigned on charges of failure to yield, and failure to report an ac- cident, class both B misdemeanors. The defendant was not represented by an attorney and was given a continuance to hire one. He is to return on Sept. 8. Claudia a diversion agreement to the court on her behalf. The diversion was approved by the court. Marietti was charged with making a false prescription, a class A misdemeanor. Stanley W. Roberts, 31, Hanksville, was represented by his attorney, Marlynn B. Lema, for pronouncement of judgment. Roberts trip to Hawaii for two is the new grand prize in the American Poetry Associations latest poetry contest. There is also a $1,000 first prize.
