In the summer of 84, Carl began learning how to break about the many important people who work for the welfare of our community as well as the county. They also received a better understanding of how these different businesses and agencies function. The agencies visited made it an enjoyable experience as well as informative. The places visited were: Emery Medical Center, city Castle Courthouse, building, Dale post office, First National Bank, fire station and the museum. WELCOMES riens too much of a gotxl thing. The fierce political battles are over. And now that the campaigns are over, we can sit back and relax for a while. Right? I certainly hope not. It is our right and responsibility to make sure those we have elected represented us well. locally, our school board now has two newly elected members to that and one position. Now is the time to let them know what direction you would like education to take in Emery County. Blackpowder Guns, Custom Leathers Chaps, Pants and Shirts SILVER MOOSE TRADERS superintendent, we are on the threshold of an educational change in Emery County. Does that sound a bit melodramatic? Nevertheless, it is a fact that a new administration has the potential to change the flavor, and in many respects, the direction, of an organization. Patrons of the school district, though some may not be aware of it, and others may choose not to exercise the right, can wield considerable influence on the actions of the school board. The timing couldnt be better to influence the attitude of the school board that will be sworn into office in January. I,et these newly elected officials know you are out there, and that you are concerned. Write them, call them, or stop them on the street. Let them know your feelings on the issues confronting our school district today. In so doing, we can maintain (to paraphrase Abe Lincoln) a school board of the public, by the public and for the children. (Note: Mrs. Maxwell's comments on education are her own and do not necessarily reflect the feelings of the members of the association.)
