Elder Davis recently returned from his mission having been in and around Washington D.C. and Virginia . He Is the son of Mrs. Desle Davis. -- Lavene Luke, daugher of Kean and Charlene Luke was bptized sat. evening and was confirmed a member of the LDS Church Sunday by her fatherKean Luke. Grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Peterson of Castle Dale and Mrs. Delphia Luke were present for the occasion, also other family relatives and friends. Mrs. Maggie Grange enjoyed a trip to Sunnyslde to visit a daughter Avona, and husband Alton Blackburn. They also drove to Bountiful to see Mr. and Mrs. Dean Anderson ( Maggies grand daughter) and had Thanksgiving with them. They also enjoyed a visit at Desert Livestock Ranch In Randolph where grandson Gary Blackburn Is foreman. They stayed overnight with grandson Kimball Blackburn and family. Kimball Is in charge of the clinic In Bountiful. Mr. Louis Whlmpey Is home from the hospital In Price, recuperating after a bout of Illness and tests. Mr. and Mrs. Kendall Gardneraccomp-anle- d a brother Lamond and wife to Salt Lake City, last week to attend the"Barber Shop" concert held at High land High school. The special Interest group will hold a Christmas supper in Cleveland on Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. Anyone wishing to attend should contact Mrs. Zinnia Humphrey who Is in charge of the group here. Mr. and Mrs, Fred Van Burendroveto Salt Lake City airport and boarded an airplane for Oklahoma during the Thanksgiving holidays. They were met by a son Kelly Van Buren at the airport. They drove to Kellys home where they enjoyed the big day, and with Kellys family. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Humphrey returned home from Washington where they spent a couple of weeks with a daughter Pat and family, the Dalian Jones. Lee is now busy getting his sheep on the desert before heaTrl-sta- ke vy snow comes. Mr. Blaine Luke and finance spent the weekend here from Provo as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Kean Luke and family. The Ward choir will sponsor an evenings entertainment on Dec. 12. There will be variety numbers, dance selections, narrations and several selections from the Ward choir. This Is a special building fund project and everyone is urged to attend and support this affair. The other auxllarles of the ward have plans for future events. The Ward Bazaar netted the building fund $1,217.16, The widows ofthe community have made a beautiful quilt which they will auction off or sell, In the near future to contribute to the building fund. It was quilted at the home of Bertha Dower. Santa Claus Is expected to make a short stop at the LDS Cultural Hall on Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. Here he will take late orders and also give the children a treat. The Cottonwood Elementary school Christmas program will be held Thursday evening Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. The young people teachers, and aides have worked falthfull-t- o make this occasion a great one. Allen Hannert Is expected to be releas ed shortly and will prooably be home for Christmas. Howard Bell has been home on leave Visiting his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Calude Bell. He enjoyed the pheasant hunt while home. He will be going back to his ship this week. Mrs. Elva Crawford has been in Calif, to visit the Lyle Crawfords. Mrs. Mary Jewkes spent a week In Orem at the home o David and Mary Lou Gordon and helped with the new grandson, David brought her home Friday. Mrs. Zinnia Humphrey and Rita to Spanish Fork to have Thanksgiving dinner with son Tom and family, she also enjoyed members of her family here during the holiday from the Salt Lake area. The family of Mr. Glen Poulsen were here for the burial of Mr. poulson. They had held services In Salt Lake In the morning and a velwlng In the afternoon here at the LDS Church. Mrs. Faye Thomas, a daughter lives here. Mr. and Mrs. Claude scovlll, Irene and Michele were In Paonla, Colo, the past weekend to visit their sonandbrotherDennls. Dennis Is a civil engineer working for the Federal Highway Adm, He has been working at Paonla since he graduated from College last spring and is now being transf- erred to Hartford, Conn. He left the past week for his new assignment. Galen Davis, son of Mrs. Dessle Davis arrived home from his mission this week. He has been laboring In Maryland and the East for the past two years. A brother Mont from the salt Lake area was here on Sunday to be with the folks. They came home Friday to visit with Wilford andFore-st- a Nielson who flew in from Dutch John. A daughter Thelma and husband Jery Livingston also came down during the Thanksgiving holidays to spend time with the Nielsons and the Livingston families. - Pearl Majors went to Ogden to visit with her daughter. While she was there she became ill and Is now in the McKay hospital in Ogden. Monday afternoon relatives and friends called on Francy LeRoy to help celebrate her birthday by having lunch with the following; Carol McQulre of salt Lake, shar-re- e Grimmet and sons, Famie Baxter, Bennett, Carol Stokes, Ella Rowley, Gayla Guymon and girls, later in the evening Emma Huntington , Lorraine Siterud and phyllls Jensen enjoyed a lunch and spent the evening visiting. Bill and Frances Potter became the parents of twin boys on Nov. 24. The twins both weighed over six pounds. The Potters Uve in Farmington, New Mexico. Jack and Vonda Corgiat,daughterDar-len- e and baby Brian spent last week in Tucson, Ariz. with another daughter Ray lene who Is teaching at the University of Aris, zona. The Corgiats returned home and spent Thanksgiving with Daj(id and Darlene West of Orem. - The Frank Halls Involved In a Uo car collision In a provo Intersection were fortunate to escape with no injuries except for lacerations suffered by the principal. A car ploughed into the left front fender of the Hall car. The other driver was cited for failure to yield. The Halls are using their truck until insureance settlements are made. With them at the time of the accident were Nadine and members of th Fred Boone family. Glenn and Lavarda Jones vacationed for a week in Desert Center, Calif., with his sister Christale Ragsdale and brothers, Casey. Tom and Verais Jones in Los Angeles. They attended temple sessions. They saw brother Claude Jones at Carson City, Nev. before returning to a warmer climate. They found calif . cold. Dorris and Lund Leonard enjoyed Thanksgiving in Auburn, Wash, with Therald, wife and children and Keith and Carol Ann. Keith is enrolled In the University of Washington college denistry. Green and warm in the Seattle area, they report. Shirl and Bessie McArthur and sons Shane and Stuart spent Thanksgiving in Holbrook, Arizona, with the Ronald Knight-on- s. The Knightons returned for the weekend in Huntington, shell Me Arthur and a roommate, Devra Hickman joined the family group. Attending the mission report of Evan Hanson at Price second Ward sacrament meeting were Dr. and Mrs. Dorr. Hanson, and sons, Blake and Karla Liddell and children, Randy Bell, Leol Hanson, and Dorr, Elizabeth and Jon. The group met later for a family reunion and refreshments at the Mark Hansons Evan has just returned from a south West mission. Judy Gebheim and children were guests at the Melvin Jensens for the holiday. The growing pains of the Huntington Wards will be solved by joint use of the building according to a schedule presented In each ward Sunday. As follows; 1st Ward priesthood 9;00 to 10;00 a.m. 2nd Ward Priesthood 9;45 to 10;45 a.m. 1st Ward Sunday school 10;15 to 11:30 a.m. 2nd Ward Sunday School 11;00 to 12;15a.m. Sacrament meeting wUl be held In each ward chapel at the regular time. This will be carried on for one year after which the schedule will be reversed. Maudie and Fenton Moffitt went to Salt Lake City for the Thanksgiving holidays and stayed with their daughter Lorraine and Tom Nielson and family. May Arnold went with her sons Gary and Lamont Arnold to salt Lake for Thanksgiving. They visited with Hal and Doris Mendenhall. Drew LeRoy and girl friend Carol of salt Lake came sat. and visited with Drews mother Francy and brothers and sister. In the Huntington First Ward sacrament meeting Myma Brahser played a piano solo. The mam speakers were Arlene and LaVon Powell. For the youth speaker the Powells grandson Corey Johnson spoke. They also had a granddaughter Michelle Powell and her friend Nadine Hall singj They were accompanied by pam Whitaker. Claudia Shelton, daughter of Zelda and Drannon Seely, was down visiting this weekend. Von and Ethel Wilson and son Steven have moved back to Huntington after living in Flagstaff, Arizona. Von is working at American Coal. They are living in the Parley Hinkins home. Debby Brinkerhoff , home for theholi-da- y, is working in salt Lake with the Dept, of Social Services for the Aging. Garth Luke, sonofKeanandCharleneLuke was promoted from the Primary to the Priesthood MIA and was also ordained a deacon, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Tuttle and Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Jones expect to visit with their children Janet and Kelly Jones and children of Calif. They will be here for the Thanksgiving holidays. The Elders of the ward conducted a social Sat Evening. They enjoyed a program and buffet supper. Mr. and Mfs. orien ScovlU visited the weekend In Orem with Kent, Julie, and children and In American Fork with David, Gloria and Steven. Saturday at 9;30 a.m. all attended baptismal services In Orem where David baptized Amy. On Sunday, Ro ger of Price and Mr. and Mrs. FordNiel-so- n of Huntington joined them and all attended sacrament services in Orem where Ford confirmed Amy.
