Entry blanks and rules have gone out to everyone on the mailing list ami entries are begin- ning to come in. Mrs. Blaine (Sandi) Silliman states that there have been no entries from Eastern Utah, and a special effort is being made to interest all horsemen of this area in this sport. Any ranch hone that has had some work this spring should be in condition for the ride, as it is In ho way an endurance ride or race. Any breed or type of horse is eligible. Mn Leah Jacobs returned home from Carbon hospital where she underwent major surgery. Date There will be sanitary facilities, and plenty of room for or camping in tents, campen hones for and trailers tying to trees or to the owners rigs. Most people like to camp with their hones. Even so , a Stable Master will be on hand at all times to keep a e-it- her check on the animals. There is no charge for camping. The Trailride is under the direction of the Lion's Club and a cook tent will be set up to serve meals from Friday's dinner through lunch on Sunday. . The Awards Banquet will be held at the Legion Hall, and kll proceeds will go to the American Legion Auxiliary. Divisions which are open for entry are; Open Heavyweight, with the rider and his tack weighing 200 pounds or over; Lightweight, with rider and tack between 140 and 199 pounds. . Junior riders are between the ages of 10 and 17. The Novice Division includes horses 3 to 5 years old. If the horse is over 5 it must hold less than 32 points at NATRC rides. Trophies and ribbons will be given through sixth place to Open Heavyweight, Open Lightweight, Open Junior, Novice, Senior Horsemanship and Junior Horsemanship. A sweepstakes trophy will be awarded to the overall high-poi- nt horse. Breed trophies will be awarded as each breed organization provides. The first ride will begin Saturday morning at 7:30 and will cover a route up Coal Canyon, across the bench and town Tusher Canyon to Camp. This is a circle ride of about 30 miles. : The ride Sunday is ten miles on a trail, with the river up the trail or by either on return the road. This event provides an opportunity for all horsemen to get together and display their skills. A great deal can be learned from the. veterinarians and their helpers, as well as horse breeders who compete each year.
