Show Orangeville News Ferron News Attending the summer convention af the Association of counties at the USU In Logan, were Mr. and Mrs. Garden Snow. Commissioners from all counties In the state of Utah convened for a two day workshop at the USU Student Union building. While Mr. Snow was attending meetings, Mrs. Snow, accompanied by Mrs. Faun Dahle of Logan, drove to Lewiston to visit Mrs. Grace Cook at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Snow re- Hugh Stevens. lays a message from Mrs. Cook, who gives her love to all the people of Ferron and appreciates very much the remembrances of her through your cards and letters. She reports she feels somewhat better. Fred Marshall of Tooele has been commuting to Ferron on his days off to help his Garden Snow, with the ranch. Beths children have been taking advantage of Freds travels to spend some time In Tooele with Anns faml- ly, each one taking a turn. Ann spent two days with her parents In Ferron last week. father-in-la- ' w. . Attending an educational music clinic at BYU are Ann Nelson, Faye Killpack, John Funk, and Sterling Conover,. The students left Monday and will participate in classes In Band, marching band, chorus and music theory which will last two weeks. They will stay on campus in the residence buildings and will have a chance to sample "college life for a short while. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Anderson went to Moab last week end. Mr. and Mrs. Vorance Nelson and boys of Kearns, visited relatives and friends in town last week and enjoyed the natural resources around Ferron. Max and Renae Anderson and boys enjoyed her family as weekend guests. They showed them our beautiful country and beautiful but unsuccessful fishing spots on the mountain. They were only able to catch two fish in an afternoon at Willow Lake. Mrs. Cleo Frandsen spent a few days last week with her sister, Mrs. Clifton Nelson. Other visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson were their daughter, Irene and Stuart Williams and family. Irenes brother. Grant Nelson and family also enjoyed their company while they were in Ferron. The Emery Co. Jeep Posse held their monthly meeting, The memMonday July 22. bers gathered at the workshop where they are working on a jeep which is to be raffled off at the Peach days celebration in Seotember. Tuttle went Ruby Mrs,. to Santa Clara, Calif, to attend the wedding of her granddaughter, Claudia Porter. Her sister, Cleora Richens of Provo went with her. Mr. and Mrs. Make Lawler and family from Victorville, Calif, are spending their two week vacation here with the Stantons and other Gerald friends. They spent a tew days at the Stantons cabin at Ferron reservoir. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Jensen Beth and Lance were visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bradford A. Jensen last week. Lance is their newly old son. adopted on the July 24 weekend. The Ferron Garden Club and Mr. and Mrs. Don Funk came from Logan by bus to spend the beautification committee had a holiday weekend with his folks, joint meeting at the Emery Co. Russell of Georgia was recently presented with the National Security Industrial Associations James Forrestal Memorial Award for 1968. The Forrestal Award is the highest honor bestowed annually by the association to that Hrson who has applied most effectively ForrestaPs ideals, to the concepts and requirements of national security. Forrestal, as tho first Secretary of Defense, firmly believed that a continuous working partnership between government and industry is essential to the national defense. Senator Russell, the President ProTempore of the United States Senate, and the Senator who has served longer in that and visited her daughter Linda and family. from Carson City, Nev. during the past week were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Crawford. They were guests of Earls mother, Mrs. Elva Crawford. She has had them on since she was a week old, and have had to have corrections weekly. They will take her back in three weeks for a check up. Guests at the Oscar home for the weekend of July 24, were Mrs. sister, Dora Jensen of Price, and her nephews Boyd Caldwell of Henderson, Nev, Jack Caldwell and son Dr. Brent Caldwell of Boulder City, Nev. The men were enroute to Ogden to attend the Ecdes family reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald and five of their six children from Van Nuys, Calif, came last week to visit his parents Mr. and Mrs. Willie Behling and other relatives in Ferron. They live in Provo where he goes to school and also works part time. Visiting in California this week with their daughter and families are Mr. and Mrs. Amaso Scovill. They will do some sight seeing enroute. A most outstanding day was enjoyed by members of the ward and visitors. Every organization did their part to make the day successful. It just takes effort, work and a united spirit to accomplish such a time. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Van Buren of Moab were here during the week. They enjoy living in Moab and have many nice friends there. Both have employment there. Gene A. Snow, scoutmaster, and a couple of car loads of Boy Scouts left early Monday morning for Maple Dell in Spanish Fork Canyon to attend the week of scout camp. Mr. Snow, his son Bryant, David Hinklns and Kent Tingey returned Wednesday night from the Scout Boy National Jamboree held in Farragut, Ida. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Humphrey and members of their family attended a Hurst reunion in Fairview Saturday. Monday they drove to Salt Lake to attend funeral services for uncle. Mrs. Alice Fox accompanied them to the City isnt a SERVICE V She will stay while her husband is at ROTC camp. Winifred, another daughter of the Van Burens spent the weekend home from her work in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Humphrey have a new granddaughter, born to Pat and Dalian Jones, Salt Lake the past week. This makes four girls for the Jones. The little girls have been staying here with their grandparents le but returned home Sunday. Humphrey went with them to help at the home a while. Mrs. Ida Page was honored Sunday on her 85th birthday by most of her family being here and bringing a birthday dinner. Present were; Mrs. Bartlett of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Kinder, Huntington, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Bryan of Price and Members of their families from over the state. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Scorrell and two daughters of Salt Lake spent the 24th weekend herewith his folks the Orien Scovills. Driving from Greenriver up to Moore the past week end were Mr. and Mrs. Alma Scovell. They brought his mother, Mrs. Mosha Scovill from the Ferron rest home here to visit with her sons and family here before returning to Greenriver Monday. They re- port the scenery beautiful, altbo the road is till rough gravel and some construction work going on in places. Visiting home over the holiday weekend from their work in Salt Lake, were Kathy Tuttle, Loranne Humphrey and Gayla band were here over the 24th to see and visit her mother, Mrs. Edna Sltterud. The Hal Coxs were happy to have their grandson visit them enroute to his home. The son of Lorlel and Mils d. Since returning from a mission Mr. Allred has been at Fort Benning, Ga. in the service Mr. and Mrs. Mack Bender-so- n . enjoyed having her sister and husband and family here over the holidays. They live in California. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tuttle spent the 24th holidays in Salt Lake with their son Dennis and family. They saw the big parade and enjoyed an afternoon in Emigration canyon. The Perry Snows and Hal M. Coxs were in Southern Utah the past week and toured the parks in the South. Here for a visit the past week were Mrs. Carolyn Jensen and two children of Seattle Wash. Mrs. Barbara Peterson of Grantsville. They also accompanied their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Buck Robertson, and the Kendall Gardners to Provo for a Robertson Saturday reunion and to meet other family .
