Announcement was made this week that a new hunting unit has been approved for the Castle Dale area, during the annual pheasant hunt, beginning Saturday, November 7. With the inception of this new unit, nearly every community in the county is now served by controlled hunting. Sponsored in Castle Dale by the Lions club, the new unit will include the area adjoining Or angeville on the west, to the south fields approximately 1 miles south of town, east to the edge of the desert, and north most of the bench property. The Lions club plans to use proceeds from the sale of tickets for community projects in the future. The purpose of hunting units in areas which receive high percentage of usage during the annual hunt, is to protect in an effort to prevent trespassing and damage in fields not open to hunting, and also to provide sportsmen with a better hunt through the issuance, if necessary, of a limited number of tags in order to prevent the over-ru- n of hunters. At the present time, most of the units in the provide ample hunting permit tags to comers. all One unit, the satisfy Washboard area including Cleveland and Elmo, has placed their tags on a limited basis, and are expected to be sold out' before the morning of the hurt. The new unit in Castle Dale, as well as all other units in the county are expected to fill all requests for hunting tags. Sportsmen are reminded that during the hunt, special deputies will patrol each hunting unit to strictly enforce game laws. In Castle Dale, officials of the sponsoring group point out that some 15 deputies will be in the fields to see that hur.ters conduct themselves according to state laws. Particular attention will be given to early shooting violations, trespass cases, and acts involving of destruction or illegally shooting property ies -i-tgame birds.
