Since that time, little or no publicity has been offered on the project, but considerable work has been accomplished to try to solve the apparent needs. In the original meeting! county commissioners appointed a committee of four persons to conduct a survey of hospital iacilities in surrounding areas of comparable size. The results of this survey, which were compiled into pamphlet form, were presented to the persons present at the second meeting. As an outgrowth of this suney, it was the apparent concensus of opinion that there was sufficient basis for the founding of more adequate medical facilities in the county. Because of this opinion, a proposal was made that the county check the possibility of accepting Fund monies, and utilizing them in constructing a d hospital within the county. The building, as outlined by the Act, would cost in the neighborhood of $400,000, of which the sponsoring fund would contribute 45, leaving more than $200,000 to be raised locally. In order to obtain this amount of money, it would require a bond election, and subsequent sale of a bond issue. After deliberation, the commissioners named Huntington as the proposed site of the new hospital, and groundwork was laid preparatory to applying for aid. Since this plan was presented, however, two additional ideas have been brought to light, which bear additional study. For this reason, the commissioners hae held olf on setting a bond election, and are conducting additional studies. A meeting was held during the latter part of November, at which municipal, civic and church leaders were invited. A discussion was made by those present on the different proposals, and it was decided by the group that a survey be made of everyone in the county, to find their ideas on the matter. Other plans discussed by which the countys medical needs could be taken fund hoscare of, besides the and included the financing building pital, of the hospital on a local basis, without the use of federal money, and federal strings, or secondly, by the construction A family Thursday in Dragerton at the home Mr and Mrs Clyde Mortensen and Belva enjoyed Thanksgiving Mr and Mrs Reno Crook and dinner in Delta at the home of Kathleen and Mr. and Mrs Merlin Clay and Anna Broderick, who are Christiansen and family were din- parents of six children. ner guests in Huntington at the Kay Crook home on Thanksgiving LeRay Olsen and Brent Jensen Day Kays wifes parents, Mr. and of Cedar City enjoyed the holidays Mrs. Charles Johnson, and her home Editor and Publisher CLARIN D.
