Show January 31, 1957 EMERY COUNTY SOCIAL Jay Larsen, Ferron, Takes Bride Engagement Told of Lorna Collard, North Emery Grad HAPPENINGS Ladies' Clubs From Carbon Co. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Christensen, former Ferron citizens, announce the marriage of their daughter, Marilyn, to Jay Larsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Larsen. The ceremony took place in the Manti Temple Saturday January 12. Relatives making the trip to Manti besides the parents of the young couple were Mrs. Hannah Christensen, grandmother of the bride, and Mrs. Leona Scovill of Greenriver, an aunt of the groom. Also present for the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Mutz of Price who were married just a few minutes previously, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Brady of Price. A reception was held that evening in the Price 4th ward recreation hall, with Bishop Wengren of the Price 3rd ward as master of ceremonies. Attendants were Jack Rhodes, best man; Kenna Mutz, maid of honor; Connie Worthen and Marilyn Miller, bridesmaids, and Lynda Christensen, sister of the bride and Diana Larsen, sister of the groom were flower girls. Ushers" were Ronald brother of the Larsen, groom, and Marvin Mutz. Lavon Reid, an aunt of the bride was in charge of the gift tables, and Lucille Erlcksen was in charge of the guest book. Mr. and Mrs. Brown of Price provided background music. Marilyn, the new bride, is a graduate of Carbon high school and has high school. The young couple plan been a student of Carbon College, j a home in Murray where the groom Jay is a graduate of South Emery is employed. Mr. and Mrs. Lealen Collard, of Huntington, announce the engage- of their daughter. Miss Lorna Collard, and Archie McCarrie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene McCarrie of Price. The young couple became engaged New Years Eve but have set no definite date for their wedding. Miss Collard is a graduate of North Emery high school and is now attending the Excelsis School of Beauty in Salt Lake City. Mr. McCarrie graduated from Carbon high school and is now attending Carbon College. . week where she entrtained them by showing slides of Canada, her girlhood home. She served a nice lunch. SEW AND SO CLUB Thursday night of last week the Sew and So Club of Ferron was entertained by Phyllis Stanton at her home. They played games and were served a nice lunch. Yvonne Leonard, LaGrand Mathie FIXE ARTS CLUB The Fine Arts Club ladies of Ferron met at the home of Surelda Ralphs last Friday evening where they quilted a quilt. She served a nice lunch. SEW AND SO CLUB The Sew and So Club members and their partners of Ferron had a surprise house warming for Mr. and Mrs. Jack Funk at their home last Saturday night. Fathers and Sons Banquet Planned By Stake Primary Emery Stake Primary guide patrol leaders are sponsoring a Fath-- 1 ers and Sons banquet February 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Orangeville rec- reation hall. Mrs. Elva Davis will be the stake guide leader in charge, assisted by Mrs. Delpha Luke, counselor. If fathers are unable to attend this affair, boys are urged to invite grandfathers or other relatives. STUDY GROUP The Castle Dale Study Group met at the home of Mrs. Zola Brasher and spent an enjoyable evening.
