He has been involved in numerous search and rescue missions and PROFILES Fifty men and women from across the United States have been invited to the Global Extremes Selection Competitions being held m Moab and the Elk Mountains m Colorado. There they wiM contend in separate events, including mountain biking, rock climbing, uphill racing and ice climbing. The participants include. Hugh Barrington, 38, Detroit, Mich - Hugh is a marketing consultant. He has climbed Mt. Rainer and was accepted by Peace Corps to serve in Benin, Africa. He has spent time in the Eastern Cordillera of Ecuador and summitted the second highest active volcano in the world, Cotopaxi. Douglas Evans, 40, South Orange, N J. Douglas is a business development consultant whose hobbies include billiards and antiques. He is a downhill ski race coach and an accomplished mountain biker. Karen Feioney, 35, Sausalita Calif. - Karen is a self employed production manager who stages kue concerts and corporate events. She is an accomplished downhill skier, a mountaineer, and a PSIA certified ski instructor. Seattle, Wash. - Megan is the international media coordinator for the Seattle Mariner's Baseball Club. She has traveled to five of the seven continents and signed up for her first triathlon not knowing how to swim, (she learned three months before the race). Jim Berry, 61. Lyndsay has a background in public relations, events and production, and ran a concession stand in the Caribou Club of Aspen. She elected to have a double mastectomy after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and upon learning her family carries the breast cancer gene. Matthew Mooney, 36, Bishop, d Calif.
