The Baccalaureate Admissions and Advancement approved her admission to the program beginning this Fall, 2002. The college requires an extensive application process, including transcripts, letters of recommendation, an essay, and a resume, which was submitted Jan. 31, 2002. Applicants were notified May 10 of their acceptance. men and women from across the nation applied for the 50 available places in the school of nursing for this fall. Due to funding, the college cut its acceptance numbers from 60 to 50, making it much harder to be admitted in the program. The average age of those admitted was 27, the youngest being Mindy (who at the time was 18). The oldest accepted was a Five-hundre- Pharmacy doing clinicals, search and schooling. She is currently a University of Utah student completing prerequisites to begin the nursing degree this fall, accomplishing this on funding from the New Century Scholarship. Mindy is a 2001 graduate from Grand County High School. She completed an associates degree from CEU and Utah State locally while completing high school. She is the daughter of Glen and Roxie Arthur and Pam and Roy Jackson. She married Dan Stubbs in March of this year. Dan is attending Salt Lake Community College this summer. He has been accepted in the University of Utah Enre- gineering program for this fall. Dan is the son of Todd and Leigh Stubbs from Moab. The young man and his companions started their canoe trip at Hittle Bottom off State Road 128 and after paddling about a mile and a half pulled over to do some cliff jumping" near the Hauer ranch. According to Rex Tanner, Search and Rescue commander, the young man jumped from the cliff into the Colorado River landing on a rock lying beneath the surface of the river. At 6 p.m., a 911 call was received via cell phone notifying authorities of the accident.
