The NPS will be preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) that will revise the 1989 Colorado River Management Plan (CRMP) for Grand Canyon National Park. These meetings will help the public learn about the guidelines under which the river is now managed and allow them to offer input on issues that should be addressed in the planning process. The NPS invites public input as they prepare to update the CRMP. Anyone interested in providing input and offering ideas about the future of the river or would like to learn more about the EIS process is encouraged to attend. The meeting in Salt Lake City will be held Tuesday, Aug. 6. It will be in an open house format from 4 to 8 p.m. at Salt Lake Community College-Mille- r Campus Miller Train- ing & Conference Center, 9750 South 300 West. Information gathered at the meeting will be used to help narrow and define the significant environmental issues and management alternatives to be analyzed in the EIS.
