As of Wednesday, the fire a as reported to be only 10 contained and has groan by more than 10.000 acres on Monday and Tuesday of this aeek. Much of the blaze is roaring through tao BLM Wilderness Study Areas, a State Roadless InArea and the Uintah-Oura- y dian Reservations. Land status on much of the land involved has limited the use of heavy equip- ment, although 381 firefighters, 5 helicopters, 5 fire engines, 6 water tenders and 3 bulldozers were battling the flames. An earlier command post had been operated out of Thompson Springs. Mike Shumway, owner of Construction of Moab, said that two Colorado bulldozers and operators were turned back TuesK-S- day morning at Thompson because the rigs were banned from being used in wilderness study areas. Shumway was assisting at the site because of his knowledge of the area. The Rattle Complex fire, now consisting of ju6t the Diamond Fire, has grown to 60,000 acres and is 10' contained. The Rattle fire, formally part of the Rattle Complex, has been renamed the Black Canyon Fire and is being managed by Paul Broyles Great Basin Type II Overhead Team.
