During hi time of service, he waa atationed at Fort Ord, Calif, Ft. Riley, KS, Jackson, S C. and Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. In 1952, he wa honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sargeant. Upon completing hia military duty, Reed returned home, where he became employed by the Utah Depart- of Transportation ment (UDOT). In 1953, hia work with UDOT took him to Montieello to work on the Peter a Hill project. While in Montieello, he met Vamta Ruth Harral whom he married on March 11, 1954. To this union were horn three children, Cindy Louise, Tamara Ruth and Terry Reed. In 1960, Reed went to work for the U.S. Pont Office in Montieello, where he waa employed until 1964. Following hia work with the Postal Service, Reed returned to work for UDOT where he re- mained employed until his retirement in 1990. During hi year with UDOT, Reed served a state inspector on three of the major bridges constructed over Lake Powell, the Dirty Devil Bridge, the White Canyon Bridge and the Colorado Bridge. During those year, due to the nature of hi work, Reed wa called upon to live away from home to support hi family Reed and hi family lived in Montieello until they moved to Moab in 1972 where they remained until after hi retirement. In 1999, he and hi wife Vamta, moved to Farmington, NM to be doner to family. After he retired, Reed enjoyed traveling and playing golf. Reed i survived by hi wife of 47 year, Vamta, hia children, Cindy of la-hi- . Daisy Lillian Stewart died Nov. 16 Daisy Lillian Stewart, a longtime resident of Moab, passed away after a lingering illness on Nov 16, at .South Valley Care Center in West Jordan. She was bom to Pearl and Ida Lovan on Jan 27, 1920 in Providence, Ky She married Willie Preston Stewart on May 14, 1942. They lived in Clay, Kentucky until September of 1961 when they moved to Moah, with their only child Carolyn.
