She married Jerry Clift in 1981. They were later divorced. They had three children Their first child w as Kay la Ann. Their joy turned to sadness w hen she parsed aw ay six weeks after her birth. Their daughter Amanda Lynn is age 12 and Their son Jared just turned 9 years old. Sonya is a loving mother and her children were her treasures. Mr-- . Rose Golden, Ralph Dale Cline died Oct. Ralph Dale Cline passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001. He was born on Sept. 27, 1914 in Lovell, Wyc. to M aik Alvirus and Maude Arstella Luker Cline, the eighth child of ten children. The Cline family home still stands in Lovell and still houses a family Surrounding this home are a few of the trees that Ralph, as a small boy, dragged from the river banks to plant in his Mothers yard. His early love for trees remained strong throughout his life. Ralphs father was a businessman in the Lovell area and owned an auto and farm machinery dealership, which provided Ralph with an early introduction to all things mechanical as well as a strong work ethnic. Ralph's father brought some of the first automobiles into Wyoming. In his childhood years he and his brothers worked in the garage and often would work on the farm machinery that their father sent out to help the local farmers during the very lean years of those times. Ralph attended Lovell schools, graduating in 1932. He was an outstanding athlete and one of the Ton of Clines', a nickname given to the Cline brothers and their nephews vv ho made up the front line on the Lovell High School football team. He attended normal training to become a schoolteacher but decided this was not what he really wanted to doxHe was a member of the National Guard and enlisted in the navy in 1933 as a seaman. He took a break from navy service from 1937 to 1941. Upon reenlisting, he quickly advanced and was commissioned as a mustanger in 1943. He served 9 years in the navy, serving as a Lieutenant Commander and Commander of LSMs during World War II. He received many citations for excellence while serving. He also played football for the navy before the war broke out. He was nicknamed Iron Man Cline and received several offers to play for the naval academy, various colleges and professional teams. I gion, The VFW, various country clubs and petroleum clubs around the country. He was a member of the Masonic Order, York Rite, Scottish Rite and of the Shrine Korein Temple. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Shirley in 1992, his parents, two brothers, and seven sisters and his great granddaughter, Mallory. He is survived by his sons, W'illiam Mack (Bill) and Clifford Ralph (Click) and his wife, Joy, his daughters, Robbie Dee Cline-Humbl- e and Deborah Dale Bundy and her husband, Wayne, all of Casper. Also surviving are grandchildren Paula Cline, Sharalyn and Jeff Titus, Scottie Humble-Cas- e, Kari and Les W'adsworth, Dale Canepa. Steven Canepa, Kirsten Pancratz, Leslie Murtagh, Josh and Sonya Day a brother Edward Irvin and his son, Joshua all of Moab. And her sister, Lillie Deanna Day and her children, Richard, James, Reba and C.J. all of Grand Junction, Colo. She is survived by numerous aunU, uncles and cousins who love her very much and w ill miss her deeply! 16 Mandy Fales, Sam Fales, Christopher Jones, and Cody Cline. Great grandchildren Stephanie, Scctt, Whitney, Cole, Dylan, Stevie Lynn, Alyssa, Jacinda, Collin, Danielle, and Trudy. The last of a great generation and truly one of a kind, he will be greatly missed. Services were held at Memorial Chapel in Casper, Friday Oct. 19. Graveside services and interment follow edf in Lovell at the Lovell Cemetery on Saturday Oct.r 20. Memorials to the Shriners Hospitals, Shrine Travel Fund, or the Mallory Ryan Gonzales Foundation would be equally appreciated by the family. Edward Leander 'Jake1 Jacobson died Oct. 21 Jake Edward Leander Jacobson passed away in Cortez, Colo, on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001. Graveside services were held Wed., Oct. 24, at the Summit Ridge Cemetery. Reverend Pat Boots officiated. Jake, as he was known to family and friends, was bora Oct. 13, 1915 in Dunton, Colo., to Jack and Ellen Sophia (Erickson) Jacobson. Jake was 86 years old. Jake graduated from Dolores High School in 1934. He took Margaret Louise Hoover to be his bride on Feb. 5, 1944, in Aztec, N.M. From this union were bora two sons, Gary and Jack, and a daughter, Jane. He worked numerous years as a postal worker at the Cortez Post Office. A member of the Cortez Elks Lodge 1789, Jake enjoyed his time spent visiting with friends at the club. He loved to fish, hunt, golf and to play all card games. Surviving Jake are his children, Gary L. Jacobson and wife, Jill of Moab; Jack R. Jacobson and wife, Laura of Cortez; and Jane E. Duncan and companion, Mike Ashcroft of Lewis; seven grandchildren, Aimee Duncan, Emily Duncan, Amanda, Melissa and Samantha Jacobson, Corey Jacobson, and Apryl Rupp; and one Trevor Ince; and two sisters, Francis Denton and husband, Marshall of Cortez, and Lee Jacobson of Farmington, N.M. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Jake Jacobson at the First National Bank erf Cortez. During the interval between naval service, he returned to the oil field, an area in which he received his first exposure at the age of twelve when his Father and several other investors sunk a wildcatter in Crys- ty.h nt Sonya has always loved elephants and has a large collection of various sizes and shapes of elephants She loves Moab and the surrounding area and has always enjoyed hiking, fishing and swimming She has worked in Moab as a waitress for the past 20 years. Sonyas great love is her family1 Her brother, Larry, describes her as the heart and soul of her family She loves warm things like water and hot tubs, w hich is fitting, since Sonya is a very warm and loving person and shared her warmth with others. As with all of us, hard times played a part in Sonyas Lfe, too! Through those hard times, she nev er compLuned, but persevered by being sweet, kind and loving to others Sonya was quiet, soft spoken and a private person. What she couldn't express in words, she expressed with her actions. She gave love and received love m return from aU her family. Sonya's mvther, Reba preceded her in death eight years ago this month. Sonyas Mom was her best friend and it hurt her deeply when she passed away. Sonya is survived by her children, Amanda and Jared, now of v Apple Authorized Sales and Service provider. Thus began his gr f t love affair with Shirley Irene Cogdill and a marriage that would last 53 years. They were married in Harrison, Neb. in 1938. Their honeymoon was a trip to Jal, N.M. in a truck hauling a load of drill stem pipe. Ralph then took her home to Lovell where they began their life together. Ralph left the navy in 1946 and began working for Pure Oil Company in Worland. When Union Oil of California purchased Pure, Ralph became a drilling foremancompany man and remained in this position until he retired in October 1979. He retired once as an employee of Union Oil and a second time, due to ill health, as an independent drilling consultant doing business as the Cline Company. During his years in the oil field, several years were spent in Moab, eventually returning to Casper in 1978 where they would remain. His parking space on his drilling locations was always marked with a wooden Bign that read "The Bear. This sign now denotes his mountain home in the Big Horn Mountains, his beloved childhood backyard and his favorite place throughout his Lfe. Ralph was an excellent hunter and marksman.
