' j !XV ' ' V 4 O rf j - J3 V v-- 1 ' A Music on the river banks The Sorrel River Ranch this year hosted a Moab Music Festival concert s sat in chairs and with the festive them: Joplin to Jelly Roll sprawled across the lawns at the ranch, as musicians performed on the porch of a lodging unit at the ranch. The event was followed by a benefit dinner at the River Grill, located at the Sorrel River Ranch. Photo by Robbie Levin. -- - Music-lover- UamJ 1 Utah Power funds family concert, presents award for outstanding program Utah Power announces Pat ifiGorp Foundation grant for Moab Music Festival Family Concert Utah Power community manager Deb Dull delivered a $5,000 PaufiCorp F oundation grant to the Moab Music Festival Board on Tuesday Sept 10 along with congratulations from the foundation and the comp iny for the festiv.il s 2001 Award for Outstanding Rural Organization or Program at ttie Utah Governor's Rural Summit The grant brought the festival s final concert to residents for free in a family picnic setting at the Old City Park on Sunday, Sept 16 at 2 p m. Other concerts in the series charged $ 5 or more in admission Sunday's concert included Bruce Adolphe s Little Red Riding Hood featuring Eric Thomas and a piano quartet Utah Powers Dull said the Music Festival s dedication to quality music and education matches the company's goals of enhancing quality of life in the communities it serves As members of the community, we are proud of our local Music Festival and the statewide recognition it has gained," Dull said We are so pleased to make this concert available to the Grand County families through the foundation's support" The series began in 1 992 and is made possible by a number of local businesses and community groups The festivals ongoing educational efforts and its contribution to the community's overall aesthetic value helped the festival achieve the governor's award.
