Lena F. Stocks died July 21, 2001, She was bom May 16, 1912 in Grand Junction, Colo, to Ben and Mina Ames. She went to school in Castleton and Moab. She met and married Angus (Puge) Stocks Aug. 19, 1930. They made their home in Old La Sal and to this union was bora three sons. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother to her family and a model homemaker, gardener and cook. Her son Ted Stocks, grand son Ted Melvin Stocks and husband Puge Stocks preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Ken (Barbara) Stocks of Dolores, Colo, and Fred (Brenda) Stocks of Old La Sal, four grand children, 12 and two great-grea- t grandchildren. Born Dec. 19, 1928 in Beaver, Utah, he was a son of Otto Litchell Schwob and Harriet Eliza Whomham Schwob. He was a lover of horses, and was an ownertrainer with many wins accredited to him. He was a friend to many who will miss him, as he was greatly loved by all who knew him. Before his retirement, he operated a service station on the corner of Main and Kane Creek Blvd. in Moab for many years. Louie loved children and especially loved having children come to the station with their parents; he treated each of them with a stick of Black Jack gum. His daughter, Jennifer Lynn Schwob Etherton ofYam Ihll, Ore., niece Annette Pippin and family, nephew Gary Browner and family of Las Vegas, Nev., and his nephew Garth Browner and family of Minersville, Utah, survive him. He also leaves behind loving Liechell Schwob, and Harriet Eliza Whomham Schwob, and sister, Rhoda Ann Browner. Funeral services were held in Moab on Saturday, July 21, under direction of Spanish Valley Mortuary. Graveside services were held later in the day at Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver. At Louie's request, in lieu of contributions to Childrens Shriners Hospital flowers, should be made. neighbors Thelma Gordon and Georgia Russell and families of Moab and Ilynn Bradshaw and family of Beaver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto Otto Louis Schwob Eddah Shields died July 24 Eddah Williams Shields, at 98, reportedly the oldest Moab resident, died July 24, 2001. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 27 at 2 p.m. at the Community Church on MiVida Blvd. A private viewing will also be held at the church. Burial will be in the Grand Valley Cemetery. Harvey Marsing died Funeral services for Harvey Marsing, 79, were held July 10 in Aspen, Colo, with burial in Colorado Springs. A former area resident, Harvey was the brother of Laura Faye (Nolan) Curtis, Green River, Gene Marsing, Blue Ridge, N.M.; Barbara Marsing Hansen, Alamo, Nev.; Verdella Davis, Green River; Albert and Connie Cottrell Marsing, Moab; Donna Marsing Duncan, Tooele; Edie Marsing, Centerville, Utah; and Chad Marsing, Farmington, Utah. Harvey leaves his wife, Molly, and two sons, Tbm, of South Dakota and John of Woodland, Utah. He was preceeded in death by brothers, Carlos and Jay, and an infant, Lewis Rex and parents Harva and Rebecca. Harvey served in the army during World War II and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. He returned to his home in Green River and worked on the D&RGW Railroad. Then he and the late Pat Gahagan went to Woody Creek, Colo, to work for Pats uncle, John Flodaus and his wife, who was a sister to Pats mom, the late March Tasker of Green River. Harvey fell in love with the Floauss daughter, Molly, and they married and he worked in the family sawmill business until 1973. Then he worked in Aspen for Highland Seed. At the time ofhis death he had driven into town to get the mail and was returning home when, for unknown reasons, he drove off the road and rolled his pickup truck to the bottom of a ravine. The friends of Louie Schwob would like to thank the people in the community who showed their respect at the passing of Louie. We would especially like to thank Dr. Steve Rouzer, who took the time to listen and care for Louie over all the years he was ill, especially the past month. Also thanks to Dr. Patrick Scherer and Dr. John Hudgins who took the time to care. And a big thanks to the staff at AMH, beginning with the nurses, to the lab and And to Larry Turpin from Spanish Valley Mortuary who did a wonderful job with the care and services of Louie. Louie was a kind and gentle man; he would want the world to know what a great and caring staff the hospital was. He wasnt able to say it so I will for him. Thank you all for the care given to Louie.
