Teachers know that feeling too Coaches, at all levels and in all sports, deal with that same feeling But how often does the business community have a chance to get involved on a personal basis? It isnt easy, but it can be done Still have doubts? Just ask Chip Brox For the past few weeks Chip has been dealing with one massive campaign to get a soccer ball to every kid in the community Working media, city rec. program and anyone that would listen, Chip proceeded to give out leather soccer balls and a bottle of water to any kid with a foot and a hand. He started out with 500 soccer balls to dish out. A month later he is down to around 50 leather reminders of what the past month has been like The neat thing about this - well, one of the neat things - is that he and his staff at the tire shop have been handing these round gifts out personally He didn't just drop the box off at the city rec. office Nor did he list the soccer balls as a freebie with any tire rotation or purchase. Chip and his staff wanted to give the soccer balls out themselves just so they could see the kids faces when they got their ball and bottle of water from the crew at Chips. Let me tell you, 500 soccer balls with the floating around and the nearly 500 kids that came in and out of the shop to get them have got to put a few miles of wear and tear on the exasperation tread on anyones tires But Chip and his crew had nothing but good things to say about the whole experience. In fact, Chips has already started thinking about next year's push to 0 of these leather get soccer balls to hand out to every kid county wide. And if they have a few left over? Send 'em south to San Juan too.
