Yet, we are praying that soon He will answer our prayer for you. When Jesus comes again. He will come swiftly, quickly, and people who haven't obeyed God (and WHO are teaching other people the FALSE DOCTRINE that they don't have to obey God) will go to Hell for eternity (2 Thess. So, because we love the souls of all men, and because God loves them even more, we will continue to try to help you see the truth that one MUST obey God to be saved. Yes, Christ paid the price on Calvary; yes, Christ is the personification of the Grace of God; but what good is all of that if a person fails to obey Christ? 1:7-10- ). (Luke 6:46). There are THREE things basic to obedience, any of which omitted, renders invalid die rest. (1) We must do what the Lord said to do; (2) We must do what the Lord said to do, in the way the Lord said do it; (3) We must do what the Lord said to do, in die way the Lord said do it, for the reason or reasons die Lord said do it. To illustrate: (a) Were the Lord to command us to go south, and we go north, we have disobeyed Him, (b) Were the Lord to bid us to go south to work in the fields, and we go south, but work in a factory, we have disobeyed Him; ( c) Were the Lord to tell us to go south to work in the fields, to earn money to buy a house in which to live, and we go south and work in the fields to purchase an automobile, we have disobeyed Him. It should never be forgotten that obedience requires us to do what the Lord said to do (cf. John 2:5), in the way the Lord said do it (cf. Luke and for the reason or reasons that die Lord said do it 22:7-13- (cf. Matt ), 17.27). This principle is often emphasized in die Scriptures, and nowhere more vividly and clearly than in the case of Naaman (2 Kings The leprous Naaman was commanded to dip, to dip seven times, to dip seven times in Jordan,' in order to be healed of his affliction. Suppose that instead of following die command 'to dip,' he had applied to the leprous nodules the balm of Gilead, or, if he dipped, dipped six times; or, if he dipped, dipped seven times in the clear waters of Damascus instead of the Jordan, or if he dipped, dipped seven times, dipped seven times in Jordan, but without FAITH in the act and simply to please hss servants, would he have received the marvelous blessing of 5.1-14- ). PottS ri Baptism, in the case of a penitent believer, is the response of faith in Chnst, results from hearing God's Word (Rom. 10.17), and has as its design the remission of past, or alien, sins (Acts 2.38, Acts 3 19). Therefore, every soul must do what Jesus said to do - be baptized (Matt. 28.19); in the way Jesus said to do it - immersion in water - a burial (Rom. 6.3; Col. 2.12); for the reason or reasons Jesus said do it - for the (emission of sins (Luke 24.47; Acts 22.16) - to be saved (Mark 16.16) - to be bom again (John 3 5) When Philip preached Jesus to the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8), on the lonely road from Jerusalem to Gaza, he emphasized the NECESSITY of baptism, as the response to faith, drawing from the eunuch the desire to be baptized immediately. If the eunuch, ignorantly or otlter-wishad rejected it, he would have rejected Christ in so doing, since to reject the teaching of Christ is to REJECT Chnst 12 48, 1 John 2 4). Himself (John 8 All we have been teaching (and will continue to teach as long as the blood runs warm in our veins) is (bat baptism (immersion) in water to wash away one's sins by il Llood of Chnst is ONE of the things all must do to obey God, and thu be saved. By the fact that you say one MUST believe or ha ve fai th in Christ to be saved, you are agreeing that we all MUST do something in order to be saved (James But in the face of plain Scripture most of you STUBBORNLY refuse to agree and teach that baptism is one of die things we must do. Woe unto you if you dont repent! Last week, we shared with you the 22 "Saviors' of the Bible. You noticed that 13 of the 22 were God's part, while the other nine were what many call WORKS on our part But again we ask, which of those 'works' can one leave out and still be saved? The Bible is Right - why not just submit yourselves to following it? Please SEARCH THE ABOVE SCRIPTURES and see whether these things are so (Acts 17.11). You are invited to attend any of our assemblies at 456 Emma Blvd. (Sunday: 9 a m., 10 a.m., and 6 p m.; Wednesday: 7 p.m.).
