President Michael Robert Lee Bailey died March 27 Gallegher awards special recognition for students who have achieved a 4.0 when taking 12 or more hours of classes. Jason is a 1999 graduate of Grand County High School, where he was named the Salutatorian of his class. He is attending Mesa State on football and academic scholarships. Jason received many honors and scholarships during his years in the Grand County School District. He is the son of Glen Arthur and Pamela Jackson of Moab. Green River resident Robert Lee Bailey, age 70, died March 27, 2000 in Grand Junction, Colo. He was born Aug. 3, 1929 in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, the youngest of two children born to William Franklin Bailey and Marion Odell Ferry. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1947, and served with distinction until 1953. Served tour of duty in Japan, China, Korea and all of Southeast Asia, where he left the Naval service with rank of First Class Storekeeper. After his Naval service Robert worked for several aircraft companies in Southern California, where he was recognized for his suggestions on production procedures. He married Katherine Ann Mahon, March 1, 1952 in Los Angeles, California.
