Show 0 tfINTAH BASIN RECORD Thursday, August 30, 1956 ii a n ri a County DUP Hold Convention At Hanna August 25 The Duchesne County Daughters of Utah Pioneers county convention was held in Hanna last Saturday at the church house. About 70 ladies from all over the county were in attendance. Kate B. Carter, president of the Central 'Company, and two of her helpers were present and gave some very interesting talks and help. The Red Cliff Camp received the Utah State flag for having the largest number of members registered during the past year and a volume of Treasurers of Pioneer History for having the most members present at the convention which was 100. The Camp at Tabiona received a volume of Treasures of Pioneer History for having the most new histories read and filed during the past year. County Captain Grace Giles was in charge of the convention. Several musical numbers were enjoyed as well as readings. These were furnished from the various camps in the county. The Red Cliff Camp of Hanna prepared the lunch. We would like to thank all those who helped in any way with the lunch, the building, the flowers, etc. We do appreciate it. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pilling went to Salt Lake City Monday of this Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pilling went Carolyn, who is at the St. Marks Hospital recovering from polio. HOME FROM HOSPITAL LaMay Roberts spent several days in the LDS Hospital last week where she had the cast taken from her leg and had some plastic surgery done on her arm and hand which were burned so severely last summer. She states that she now has a cast on her arm and still cant walk without the help of crutches. Her mother, Mrs. Florence Roberts, has been with her. Nadine brought them home Friday night. We surely hope LaMay will make a speedy recovery. Cecil Roberts left Tuesday to attend the wedding of his army buddy at Houston, Texas. He plans on being gone until the first of September. Roland Roberts is visiting relatives in Salt Lake City this week. Miss Esther Bertola is visiting at the Cliff Roberts home for a days.v SOCIETY USAC Mr., and Mrs. Alden Chatwin and baby visited with the Joe Currys over the weekend. Alden has been hospitalized recently with a stomach aliment, but is feeling better. Mr. and Mrs. Frank T. Defa and daughter, Carole, were Sunday night supper guests of the Ferris Giles.
