If the Eagles expect a cut of the second place pie in the league, and the right to meet the second place team from the Carbon-Emerdivision in a play off at Price March 7, then they have to stop the Utes on their own floor Friday night. The Utes will have a mighty big night if they stop Udell Birch, Erl Simpson and Jimmy Grant. This trio is capable of some high scoring antics, and the visiting Utes will know they have been to a ball game if they hand loss No. 4 onto the Eagles. A loss for Duchesne would Novo 511 Thursday. After a .stormy public hearing, the Senate has the bill in committee and its future, as the time runs out, is rather uncertain. Yet to' come up are varied plans of promoting state tourist trade, the entire round of requested salary increases, the proposed new public health code, the proposed fish and game code, flood control, a raft of traffic safety proposals and provisions for enabling municipalities to set up programs for clearing up stream pollution and building sewage disposal and treatment plants. As the legislators round the turn into the backstretch, most of them are casting apprehensive glances toward the big public school survey commission, just now finishing up its report, and the powerful joint appropriation committee, which must figure out where the money is to come from gnd how much will be spent for what.
