Lena Defa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Defa. will become the bride of DeLyle Giles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Giles, of Tabiona, in a ceremony to be performed Thursday, March 6 at 6:30 p. m.. at the home of the brides parents. For the occasion the bride will be dressed in a beautiful gown of white satin and lace, entrain. Her veil of Chantilly lace will fall in misty layers to her fingertips from a lovely beaded coronet halo. She will carry a single orchid. The bride elect has chosen her sister, Joy, as maid of honor. and Marvel Giles as bridesmaid. Bert Lazenby. of Tabiona. uncle of the bride will perform the ceremony. Best man will be a fellow sea- -Caroman of Mr. Giles, roll, of Talmage. Following the ceremony, a buffet supper will be served to the wedding party and assembled relatives and friends. After a shower and wedding dance, scheduled for March 8 at the Tabiona Ward Hall, the couple will honeymoon in Sar, Diego. California, where Mr. Giles is stationed with the Navy. A delicious dinner was served between 7:30 and 9 p. m. under the direction of the Relief Society and Primary officers, followed by dancing. The following program was presented, under the direction of the MJ A., reading, Mrs. Thelma Dunsmore; jokes, Mrs. Bell Brown Eyes and Allred; Slow Poke sung by a boys chorus composed of Jack and Don Carroll. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Weeks received word this week of the promotion of their son. Homer, from private first class to corporal, effective Feb. 1. Hom;r entered service April 9, 1951. He has been overseas for the past six months with a military police unit stationed at Suganio Prison. Keith Ralphs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ralphs, was able to come home from the Roosevelt Hospital a week ago Tuesday. He was operated on for appendicitis Feb. 18. Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Mitchel spent last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Berrett in Rangely. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Clark and family, of Meeker. Colorado, spent last weekend with Mr. Clarks brother, Wm. E. Clark, and a sister. Mrs. Harold Morris, and families. Dale Carroll went to Salt Lake City this week to seek Anthony, Idaho, to visit at the home of Mz and Mrs. Charles Martin. Mrs. Walling, a former Myton resident, - is a sister of Mr. Martin and is the former Miss Nellie Martin. Mr. Walling returned to Idaho, Monday, while his wife and son remained for a longer visit. Mrs. W. H. Linck visited in Salt Lake City for a few. days last week. Mrs. W. R. Harris was hostess to a bridge foursome Friday afternoon. Her guest list included Mrs. Homer Robinson, Mrs. Rex Lamb and Mrs. James Dalgleish. High score prize was awarded to Mrs. Robinson. Howard Davenport visited with Myton friends this week, coming from Logan, where he is attending the Utah State Agricultural College. He arrived Saturday, returning to Logan Sunday afternoon. The. Davenport family made a home here for several years, and are now located at Los Angeles, Calif. Howard attended Roosevelt High School,, graduating in 1950. Mrs. Ben C. Gomm read excerpts from letters from her son, Bryant, who has recently arrived in Germany, and Earl Case read letters from Us son, Glenn, who is having his first glimpse of Japan. Both, - boys spoke of attending L.D.S.- services in these foreign. lands.. Glenn is particularly interested in the farming methods of Japan and spoke of the odd spectacle of seeing several inches of snow among orange trees with ripe fruit on the branches. He appreciates the regular arrival of the Roosevelt Standard sent by his parents. Bryant has been made a corporal since arriving in Germany. He writes his parents that there is one more ocean voyage he wants to take and that is the one that will bring him; back to home in the U.S.A.. Mr. and Mrs. Volney Boswell reported that Elvin will soon have completed his three-yea- r enlistment in the Army and will be leaving Germany for home in the very near future.
