Other talks will be printed in the future in this paper: Tonight I am going to talk to you about a disease which we all know to be one of the most serious of all, cancer of the breast. This year about 50.000 American women will develop this disease. Over half of them will die of their disease within the next 5 years. You, of course, may be one of them. I will try tonight to quiet some of your fears, answer some of your questions and arm you with a few important bits of information which may save YOUR life. First of all, let us realize that when a physician makes a diagnosis of cancer he is not necessarily consigning the patient to certain death. Cancer is NOT an incurable disease.
