The number Of forest and range fires on state and private lands for the season was 110 f jres, covering 6,790 acres. The 1949 records show 86 fires burn- ing 3,902 acres. Lightning fires in 1950 were 10 more than in 1949 while those caused by railroads creased by 17. Smokers fires decreased 8. The state and counties spent $11,500 in suppressing fires in 1950. This does not include contributed time by cooperating agencies and help by individuals given free. Thanks are extended to all who helped in fire prevention and suppression. Mrs. Lois LaRose entertained the group with songs and guitar accompaniment. Three numbers were sung by Anna Lee Thacker, Veretta Gomm and Mrs. Mrs. Rosabelle Ames gave a reading, and Bernice Boswell played a piano solo. Games and refreshments completed the afternoon party. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gallyer and daughters returned here Sunday from California, where they spent the winter months. The Gallyers will leave the latter part of this week for Idaho, where Mr. Gallyer has employment. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Nielsen made a trip to Provo Monday, where Mrs. Nielsen consulted an eye specialist. Mrs. Zeda Brady spent a few days in Provo this week visiting her sister and brother-in-laMr. and Mrs. Ward Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Lisonbee and little granddaughter. Rae Lyn Winkler, of the Castle Peak Gilsonite mine visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Lisonbee. A special program was presented Sunday evening by the Bridgeland ward Relief Society. President Elva Lisonbee was in charge.
